Grok is a quick way to work out what a video should say, and with a connector it can make the edit too. Add Arsaze to Grok and it can cut, caption, grade and mix your footage on a real multi-track timeline, with every edit playing back live in the editor.
Connect Grok to Arsaze
- Go to grok.com/connectors.
- Choose New Connector, then Custom.
- Name it Arsaze and paste the server URL: https://api.arsaze.com/mcp
- Sign in to Arsaze when you are asked, and approve the connection. No API key is needed.
Start a chat with the connector switched on and ask Grok to list your Arsaze projects. If it names them, you are connected.
Good first requests
Grok is fast, which suits short edits for social posts. Open the project in Arsaze so you can watch, then try one of these:
- "Cut the silences and keep only the parts where I talk about the launch."
- "Add bold captions, word by word, at the bottom of the frame."
- "Make the music quieter under my voice and even out the loudness."
- "Give the whole video a warm, clean look."
Once a small request works, give it a whole brief, the way you would brief an editor: how long the video should be, what must stay in, and the style of captions and sound. The idea behind working this way is explained in agentic video editing.
Grok, Claude or ChatGPT?
All three connect to Arsaze the same way and work on the same timeline, so you do not have to choose one for good. Use the assistant you already pay for. Some people plan with one and edit with another. The project, its version history and its review notes stay in Arsaze whichever you use. The steps for the others are in how to connect Claude and how to connect ChatGPT.
Your edit stays yours
Every edit Grok makes is saved to version history, so you can step back to any earlier state. You can take over by hand whenever you like, and lock the clips you want to keep exactly as they are. In a local project, your files stay on your computer while Grok edits.
What it costs
Connecting Grok and editing with it works on Arsaze's free plan. Generating new video, images, voiceover or music needs a paid plan. Your Grok subscription is separate.
The full connection reference for every assistant is on the video editor for AI agents page.
Questions people ask
Can Grok edit videos?
Yes, through a connector. Add Arsaze as a custom connector at grok.com/connectors with the server URL https://api.arsaze.com/mcp, sign in, and Grok can edit your Arsaze projects on a real multi-track timeline.
How do I add a custom connector in Grok?
Go to grok.com/connectors, choose New Connector, then Custom, name it Arsaze and paste https://api.arsaze.com/mcp. Grok then sends you to Arsaze to sign in and approve the connection.
Do I need an API key to connect Grok to Arsaze?
No. The connection uses a sign-in: you approve Grok once with your Arsaze account. There is no key to copy.
Can I use Grok and Claude on the same video project?
Yes. Any assistant connected to your Arsaze account can work on the same project, and every edit, whichever assistant made it, lands in the same version history.
