Arsaze local projects keep your footage on your own PC. You can create unlimited local projects on any plan, with no AI and no server-side analysis of your media. The timeline and its version history are saved to your account so every edit can be undone, and a local project converts to a cloud project in one click when you want AI features.

What stays on your PC, and what does not
| Your video, audio and images | Stay on your PC. They are not uploaded. |
|---|---|
| Analysis of your media | None on our servers |
| AI features | Off. Arsaze's own AI never sees the files. |
| Transcription | On your PC, free |
| Timeline and version history | Saved in your account, so any edit can be undone |
| Number of projects | Unlimited, on every plan |
| Export | On your PC, free, no watermark |
| Internet | Needed while you edit, because the timeline lives in your account |
To be exact about the word local: the media is local, the edit is not. We save the timeline, which is a list of cuts and settings, in your account so you get full version history and can open the project again. The pictures and sound do not leave your machine.
What you get
- Unlimited local projects. They do not count toward your plan's project limit.
- Version history that your plan does not limit, with every edit reversible.
- Free transcription on your PC for text-based editing and captions.
- The full manual editor: multi-track timeline, trims, keyframes and color.
- Free local export with no watermark.
What is switched off
Pages that need the cloud or AI, such as Plan, Animate, generation, Playground and client review, are visible but locked in a local project. Opening one takes you to the page where you can convert the project. There is no cloud export from a local project.
Converting to the cloud
When you want AI features or want to share a project, convert it in one click. Conversion is one way: after it, the files are uploaded and the project behaves like any cloud project. The default choices on the convert page spend nothing, so nothing is analyzed in the cloud until you tick it.
AI assistants and local projects
MCP access for local projects is not available today, because we wanted to be sure nothing leaves the project. Many of you asked for it, so we are building it for October 2026. When it ships, you will be able to connect the assistant you choose, such as Claude. Arsaze's own in-house AI will still not see or touch the files in a local project.
Questions and answers
Does Arsaze upload my footage in a local project?
No. In a local project your video, audio and images stay on your PC. They are not uploaded and they are not analyzed on our servers.
What does Arsaze store for a local project?
The timeline and its version history, saved in your account. That is how you get undo and history, and why the app needs an internet connection while you edit.
Can the AI see my local project?
No. AI features are off in a local project and Arsaze's own AI does not read the files. Connecting your own assistant over MCP to a local project is planned for October 2026.
Is there a limit on local projects?
No. You can create as many as you like on any plan, and they do not count toward your plan's project limit.
Can I turn a local project into a cloud project?
Yes, in one click. It is a one way change, and the defaults on the convert page do not spend credits or start any cloud analysis.
Can I use it offline?
Not fully. The media is on your PC, but the timeline is saved in your account, so you need an internet connection while you edit.
Is local transcription included?
Yes. English speech is transcribed on your PC, free, so text-based editing and captions work without sending your audio anywhere.
