Arsaze transcribes your videos on your own PC, and it is free forever on every plan, including the Free plan. In the Windows desktop app, English speech is turned into a word-timed transcript by your own processor. There is no per-minute fee, no credits are spent, and the transcript feeds text-based editing, captions and silence cutting in Arsaze's full editor.

How it works
Install the Arsaze app for Windows and add a video. The speech recognition runs on your computer, not on Arsaze's servers, and the result is a transcript with a timestamp on every word. You do not start it, pay for it or wait in a queue. It happens as part of adding the file.
Because the words are timed, the transcript is more than text. Select a sentence and delete it, and the video is cut at exactly those words. The same transcript drives captions, filler-word removal and search across your footage.
What free forever covers
| Price | Free, on every plan |
|---|---|
| AI credits used | None |
| Per-minute charge | None |
| Where it runs | Your own PC, in the Arsaze Windows app |
| Language today | English |
| Other languages | Transcribed in the cloud instead, using your AI credits |
Cloud transcription costs money to run, which is why it draws on credits. Transcribing on your own processor costs us nothing to run, so we do not charge for it. That is the whole reason it can be free for good.
What you can do with the transcript
- Edit by text: delete words and the timeline cuts them.
- Cut silences, long pauses and filler words in one pass.
- Find retakes of the same line and keep the best one.
- Add word-timed captions in a reusable style.
- Search your footage by what was said.
Limits, stated plainly
- On-device transcription is English today. Speech in other languages is transcribed in the cloud, which uses AI credits.
- It runs in the Windows app. In the browser, transcription runs in the cloud, and the Free plan includes 50 one-time welcome AI credits for it.
- The app needs an internet connection while you edit, because your projects live in your account. The speech recognition step itself runs on your PC.
- Accuracy depends on how clean the audio is and how the person speaks. We do not publish a single accuracy number, because it would not hold for your footage.
Questions and answers
Is Arsaze transcription really free?
Yes, when it runs on your own PC in the Windows app. It is free on every plan, including the Free plan, it uses no AI credits and there is no per-minute charge.
Is the free transcription limited to a trial or a number of hours?
No. There is no trial and no hour allowance. Transcription on your own PC stays free for as long as you use Arsaze.
Which languages does it support?
English is transcribed on your PC today. Other languages are transcribed in the cloud, which uses AI credits where your plan includes them.
Is my audio sent to a server to be transcribed?
No. The speech recognition runs on your computer. In a local project your footage never leaves your PC at all. In a cloud project, the files you add are stored in your account as the media for that project, but the transcript itself is made on your machine.
Does it work in the browser or on a Mac?
On-device transcription is part of the Windows app. In the browser, and on a Mac, transcription runs in the cloud, and the Free plan includes 50 one-time welcome AI credits for it.
Can I use the transcript to edit the video?
Yes. Every word is timed, so deleting words in the transcript cuts the video, and the same transcript powers captions and silence and filler-word removal.
