About
Upload fields, forms and messaging apps often set a limit on file size. When you know a limit exists but not its exact value, 10 MB is a useful size to aim for. This page opens the Video Compressor already set to 10 MB, so you can get a clip under that line in a few clicks.
At 10 MB, the length of the clip and the amount of movement decide how good the picture looks. A short clip keeps good detail. A long clip, or one with a lot of motion, looks softer. Drop the video onto the page and the tool shows its length and resolution, then warns you if 10 MB is too small for the video.
Keep sound on when speech or music matters. Turn it off for a silent clip, or to free room for the picture on a long one. If the tool cannot reach 10 MB, it tells you, and you can choose a larger size, turn sound off, or shorten the video. The work runs in your browser, so the video is not sent to a server.
How to use the Compress a Video to 10 MB

Drop an MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV file onto the page, or click to pick one. The length and resolution are read straight away.

What people use it for
Fill an upload field with a size cap
A form or portal that accepts files up to 10 MB needs a clip that fits. Compress it before you upload, so the upload does not fail.
Send a clip when the limit is unknown
When you cannot find the exact cap, 10 MB gives you a size to start from, and you can adjust it if the service asks for less.
Keep a recording with a document
Make a video small enough to store alongside a report or a set of notes, without taking up much space.
Questions
How do I compress a video to 10 MB?
Open the tool, keep 10 MB selected under Settings, and click Compress to 10 MB. When it finishes, click Download. If the file cannot reach 10 MB, turn sound off or shorten the video, then compress it again.
Will compressing to 10 MB ruin the quality?
It lowers the detail, and the effect depends on the length and the movement in the clip. A short clip with little motion keeps good detail. A long clip or fast action looks softer. The page warns you if 10 MB is very small for the length.
What if the video is still over 10 MB?
The tool tries again at a slightly lower quality, up to three times. If it still cannot reach 10 MB, it says so. Then turn sound off, choose a larger size if your upload allows it, or shorten the video.
Should I turn off the sound?
Turn it off if the clip does not need audio, such as a silent screen recording or a background video. Keep it on when speech or music matters, because the audio is part of the clip.
Does compressing to 10 MB add a watermark?
No. The tool does not add a watermark or logo to the video.
Is my video uploaded when I compress it?
No. The compression runs in your browser, and the video is not sent to a server.
