About
This free online GIF editor lets you trim, reverse, speed up, slow down and caption an animated GIF in one place. Open the GIF, change what you need, and download the edited file. Your file is processed in your browser and is not uploaded, and there is no sign-up step.
Trim Frame Range has a Start Frame and an End Frame slider, so you can keep only part of the animation. Speed & Direction sets the playback speed to 0.5x, 1.0x, 1.5x or 2.0x, and Play Backwards (Reverse GIF) plays the frames in reverse. Type text under Add Caption to put a bold white caption with a black outline along the bottom of every frame.
Click Apply Edits to write the changes into a new GIF. The result keeps the size of your original, and the preview shows it straight away. Download Edited GIF saves the file with -edited added to the original name.

What people use it for

Add a caption for a post
Put a short line of text along the bottom of a GIF before you share it on a social post or in a chat.
Slow a fast GIF down
Choose 0.5x so the action is easier to follow, or 2.0x to make a short loop move quicker.

Questions
Is the GIF editor free?
Yes. The tool is free to use, and there is no sign-up step on the page.
Can I delete a single frame from the middle of a GIF?
No. This page trims a range of frames, from a start point to an end point. It does not remove individual frames from the middle of the animation.
Will the caption stay on the saved GIF?
Yes. The caption is drawn into each frame when you click Apply Edits, so it stays on the file you download.
Does it add a watermark?
No. The only text added to the GIF is the caption you type.
Are my GIFs uploaded?
No. The GIF is processed in your browser and is not sent to a server.
