About
This is a free online image to text converter, also called an OCR tool. Drop in a photo, screenshot or scan, and the printed or typed text in it is read and placed in a box you can edit, copy or save as a .TXT file. The image is read in your browser and is not uploaded.
Choose the language of the text before you extract it: English, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese or Turkish. Clear, sharp text in one language gives the best result. Small, blurry or low-contrast text, handwriting and busy backgrounds are harder to read, so the words may come out wrong.
Once the text appears, the page shows a confidence percentage. It is an estimate of how sure the reading is, not a guarantee. Check names, numbers and dates against the image, and correct anything in the box before you copy it.

Questions
Is the OCR Image to Text Extractor free?
Yes. The tool is free to use, and the text is read in your browser.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The image is read on your device and is not sent to a server.
Which languages can it read?
The page offers English, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese and Turkish. Choose the language that matches the text before you extract it.
Can it read handwriting?
The tool is made for printed and typed text. Handwriting is usually read less accurately, so check the result line by line.
Why does the extracted text have mistakes?
Blurry, small, tilted or low-contrast text is harder to read. Use a sharper image, crop it close to the text, and check the result before you use it.
What does the confidence percentage mean?
It is the page's estimate of how sure the reading is. A high number is a good sign, but it does not replace checking the text against the image.
