Record yourself with a free online webcam recorder. Allow the camera and microphone, choose 1080p or 720p, press Start Recording and download the video. The recording is made in your browser, and it is not sent to a server.
The preview is mirrored by default, which is how you see yourself in a mirror. Turn Mirror Preview off to see the picture as the camera sees it. The recording itself is not flipped. While you record, a red REC timer runs on the preview, and you can pause and resume without starting a new recording.
The camera is asked for the resolution you choose, but the final size depends on what your camera supports. The recording is saved as a WebM file. The page keeps it in memory until you download it, so keep the tab open while you record.
How to use the Webcam & Video Recorder

Allow the camera and microphone
When the page opens, allow the browser to use your camera and microphone. The preview appears once access is granted. If access is denied, the page asks you to allow it in your browser settings.

Choose a resolution
Under Camera Settings, pick 1080p Full HD or 720p HD. Changing the resolution restarts the camera.

Record
Click Start Recording. A red REC timer appears on the preview. Use Pause to stop for a moment, Resume to carry on, and Stop to finish.

Download the recording
After you click Stop, the recording replaces the live preview so you can play it back. Click Download Recording to save the WebM file.

No. The recording is made on your device and is not sent to a server.
Does it record sound?
Yes. The page asks for the microphone as well as the camera, so the recording includes sound. If either permission is denied, the camera does not start.
Why is my recording not 1080p?
The page asks for 1080p or 720p, but the camera decides the final size. A camera that cannot record at that size uses the closest size it supports.
What file format is the recording?
The recording is saved as a WebM file. Use a video editor or a converter if another format is needed.
