Blurring a face in a moving shot used to mean keyframing the blur by hand, frame after frame. In Arsaze you mark the face once.
The four steps
- Mark it. Drag a box around the target on any frame, or describe it, such as the person in red at 0:14. An AI assistant can ask for the face or the person in a clip.
- It is followed. Arsaze records the target's position, size and rotation through the shot, forward and backward. If it is hidden or leaves the frame, it is picked up again when it comes back.
- Fix only what is wrong. Where the track slips, re-mark it on that frame. Only that stretch is followed again and joined in. The rest stays as it was.
- Use it anywhere. Apply a finished result, attach a clip of your own to it, or let graphics ride on it in an Animate scene.
The eight tools
A track on its own is data. We built eight tools that turn it into something you can use in one click.
- Blur hides a face, a number plate or a screen.
- Cover is a solid shape that moves and turns with the target.
- Spotlight dims everything else in the frame.
- Magnify is a lens that stays on the target.
- Label is a caption that rides along.
- Follow cam zooms in and keeps the target in frame, so wide footage becomes a tall video.
- Lock on holds the target still while the picture moves around it.
- Steady takes the shake out of the shot.
Each result is built from ordinary clips and keyframes on your timeline. Nothing is baked. You can move a piece, retime it or delete it, and your footage clip is never edited. You can try the tools on the home page demo.
Where it runs
On your own PC in the Windows app, tracking runs locally and does not use AI credits. In the browser it runs in the cloud. Either way an assistant connected over MCP can start a track and choose a tool in one request, for example to blur the face of whoever is speaking.
Tracking in Animate
In Animate Studio, a layer can follow a track, stick beside it or be pinned onto it. A camera solve goes a step further and recovers how the real camera moved, so a title can hold its place in the room. A track follows one thing that moves. A solve describes the camera. Use both and one label can ride the person while another stays on the wall behind them.
What it does not do yet
- Corner-pin onto a surface works inside Animate scenes, not on the main timeline yet.
- Blur, spotlight and magnify use moving masks, so they take longer to export than cover or label.
- A 3D camera solve from real handheld footage is the newest part and the one we want more of your footage on. If a solve looks wrong, tell us.
Try it
Open a clip in Arsaze, or in the Windows app to run it on your PC. The overview is on the motion tracking page.
Questions people ask
How do I blur a moving face in a video?
Mark the face once with a box. Arsaze follows it through the shot and applies a blur that moves with it. If the track slips, re-mark only those frames.
Can I turn a wide video into a vertical one?
Yes. Follow cam zooms in on the target and keeps it in frame, which turns wide footage into a tall video.
Does tracking cost credits?
Tracking on your own PC in the Windows app does not use AI credits.
Can an AI assistant track things for me?
Yes. An assistant connected over MCP can find a face or a person, track it and apply a tool in one request.
